Builders MD was founded in May of 2007. David Flanders, with a degree in Construction Technology and Business Management from Appalachian State University, desired to work closely with clients while also being very hands on with whatever project was going on. Thus, Builders MD was born. David grew up around the construction industry, working summers and during his college career in the many facets of residential and commercial building. Rather than going to work for another large builder, he desired to own the company in order to control the quality of the product being built.

Builders MD is a full service custom home building company working in Guilford County and the surrounding areas. We specialize in caring uniquely for each of our customers and their home or business as we work through the building process together.

Our goal is to become your life-long contractor by meeting all your building needs with care that exceeds your expectations.

One unique thing about us is this… simply put, we’re there! David (owner and contractor) has a wide range of skills that allow him to do much of the hand-on labor himself. And David wouldn’t have it any other way. He wants to be on the job site working!

Meet Our Team

David FlandersOwner & Contractor

David grew up in Greensboro with his family of six. He started his first business at the age of 12 (Car Detailing) and hired his first employee at age 15. David graduated from Appalachian State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Technology and a minor in Business Management. David has always enjoyed working with his hands and absolutely loves what he does for a living! David married Casey in 2008. They stay busy at home with four boys, Noah, Easton and their twins, Knox and Cruze.

Casey FlandersDesigner

Casey is an in-house Interior Designer working closely with Builders MD. Or as we like to call her… “our secret weapon”! Casey has an incredible talent to work closely with clients regardless of budget to truly make a house into a home. When Casey isn’t turning our homes into dream homes she stays very busy keeping up with her four boys! Casey and David have been married for over ten years now.

Kellee LehmanOffice Manager & Social Media Content Creator

Kellee is a North Carolina native. She grew up in Pleasant Garden and moved to Oak Ridge 7 years ago. The rural landscape and convenience to town drew her in and stole her heart. Kellee resides with her NY native husband, Brad and their 2 girls, Zoee and Myla. Kellee has dual roles for Builders MD as the Office Manager and Social Media Content Creator. When she is not working, she loves to exercise, hike, thrift shop, and make sourdough bread. We should also mention that Kellee is the older sister of Builders MD Designer, Casey Flanders.
